Custom domain

Premium and Pro shops can use their own domain, such as shop.yourbrand.com, in addition to the free subdomain.

Requirements

• A Premium or Pro plan. If your plan later stops including custom domains, the domain stops serving your shop.
• A domain you control, with access to its DNS settings.
• Up to 3 domains per shop. Names under sell-space.com are not custom domains.

Steps

1. Add the domainOpen Domains in the dashboard, enter the domain name (for example shop.example.com, without https:// or a path) and add it.
2. Create the TXT recordAdd a TXT record that proves you own the domain. The dashboard shows the exact host and value.
3. Create the routing recordPoint the domain to SellSpace with a CNAME record to the target shown in the dashboard (an A record if the target is an IP address).
4. VerifyPress verify. The status becomes verified when the TXT value matches. Routing is checked separately.

The real values are shown in your dashboard. The shape looks like this:

DNS changes take time

DNS changes can take from a few minutes up to a few hours to spread. If verification fails, the dashboard tells you whether no TXT record was found yet or whether its value does not match. Try again later.

Ownership

Several shops may add the same name, but only one can hold it verified. Only the shop that proves ownership with the TXT record is served on that domain.
