Account and e-mail verification

Your account is the login for your dashboard. It is separate from your shop and from your Stripe account.

Create an account

  1. Open the sign-up pageGo to sell-space.com/register.
  2. Fill in the formFull name, e-mail address and a password. The form asks for at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter and one number, and you confirm the password a second time.
  3. Accept the termsTick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You cannot create an account without it.
  4. Verify your e-mailWe send a verification link to the address you entered. Open it to activate your account. The link is valid for 24 hours.

You cannot log in until the e-mail address is verified. If the e-mail does not arrive, check your spam folder. On the login page, the message "Please verify your email first" has a Resend link that sends a new link.

Log in

Log in with your e-mail and password, or choose Continue with Google or Continue with Discord when those buttons are shown. Without "Remember me" you stay logged in until you close the browser (24 hours at most). With "Remember me" you stay logged in for 30 days after your last visit; every visit extends it. Staff accounts are asked to log in again (with two-factor authentication) after 7 days at most. Google and Discord logins are remembered like "Remember me". After logging in you are taken to your dashboard, or to the shop setup if you do not have a shop yet.

Sign in with Google or Discord

If you use a Google or Discord account for the first time, we create your SellSpace account from the name and verified e-mail address the provider sends us, after you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If an account with the same verified e-mail address already exists, the two are linked automatically; an account whose e-mail address is not verified yet is never linked silently, verify it first. Accounts with two-factor authentication always ask for the code. In Settings, Sign-in methods you can link or unlink Google and Discord and set a password. You can never remove your last way to sign in.

Your active sessions

Settings, Active sessions lists the devices where you are logged in (browser and system only, no IP address). You can log out a single device or all other devices. Changing your password or two-factor settings logs out every other device automatically.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. On the login page choose Forgot password? and enter your e-mail address.
  2. If an account exists for that address, we send a reset link. The link is valid for one hour.
  3. Open the link and choose a new password.

For privacy, the page shows the same message whether or not an account exists for the address.

Change your name or password

In Dashboard, Settings, Account & Security you can update your name and set a new password (you enter your current password, the new one and a confirmation). If you signed up with Google or Discord and have no password yet, use Sign-in methods to set one.

Accounts and roles

Most accounts are normal seller accounts. SellSpace staff accounts have extra roles for moderation and support, and use additional protection such as two-factor authentication. See Security and privacy.
