Create your shop and subdomain

A shop is your storefront. Every shop gets a free subdomain on sell-space.com.

Create the shop

After your first login you land on the setup page. You choose two things:

Press Create My Store. If the subdomain is taken, you are asked to choose another one.

Quick setup wizard

Right after you create your first shop, Quick setup opens. It walks you through six steps: store name and description, look and feel (theme, colours, logo, hero text, with a live preview), groups, your first product, payments (Stripe) and extras (custom domain, live alerts, team member). Every step has Skip for now, so you can start with what matters to you.

• Skipped steps can be resumed at any time: open Setup guide in the menu, or press Continue setup on the dashboard.
• Things you already did elsewhere (for example a product or a connected Stripe account) are detected and shown as done.
• The Setup checklist on the dashboard shows your progress. Dismiss hides it; Setup guide brings it back. It disappears by itself when everything is done.
• Only the shop owner and managers see Quick setup. Connecting Stripe, a custom domain and inviting people are owner-only.

What to do next

1. Connect Stripe. Buyers cannot pay until your Stripe account is ready.
2. Add a product with at least one variant and its delivery.
3. Customize the storefront with a theme and the builder.

Shop settings

In Settings, Shop Profile you can update the shop name and description. The Danger Zone section lets you deactivate your store.

Change your storefront address

The shop owner can change the free address (name.sell-space.com) in Settings, Shop Profile, Storefront URL: press Change, type the new name and confirm once the page shows it is available. The same rules as at creation apply: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, no hyphen at the start or end, and reserved or platform names are not available.

• Your old address keeps working for 90 days. It redirects to the same page on the new address, so links you shared on social media, in e-mails or in videos still arrive. During these 90 days nobody else can register the old name, and you can take it back whenever you like. After that the name is released. The reservation only protects the old name while your shop exists: if the shop is deleted, both its current and its old addresses are free for anyone at once.
• Customers sign in again. Customer accounts are tied to the address, so buyers who were signed in to your store need to sign in again on the new address (their orders and balance are not affected).
• One change every 7 days. After a change the button shows the date you can change again. Taking back your own previous address is always allowed.
• You get an e-mail that confirms the change. Custom domains are not affected.
• Update text you typed yourself. Legal pages created from a template contain the old address as text; edit them under Legal and Privacy.

Your own domain

The free subdomain stays available (and can be changed, see above). Premium and Pro shops can additionally connect their own domain, see Custom domain.
